Elfin Elfin Series Book 1 eBook Quinn Loftis Bagley Designs Rachel Carr

This book was a light, quick and fun read with quirky characters and dialogue that made me giggle often. This is the first book I have read by this author but after this, I will be sure to check out further works by her.

I did find that the romances in this book developed a bit more quickly than I would have expected and without much rhyme or reason, but the characters were so much fun that it didn't really matter to me in the end.

This book ends in a strang-ish kind of way which I assume will be resolved in the next book. Either way, this was a great way to spend an afternoon of reading. The main characters are interesting and well written and the story only seems as if it will get more exciting as it develops further with the series.

I would encourage those of you who enjoy a good story with magic and romance to check this one out.

Elfin Elfin Series Book 1 eBook Quinn Loftis Bagley Designs Rachel Carr Reviews

The pace of this book was intense, I had a hard time putting it down, even though there were several things that bothered me. Overall it's a great plot with lots of excitement and romance. It could use a good deal more editing, though. There were several times I was pulled out of the story as I tried to figure out what was trying to be said. And this might be really weird but 'shined' was really bugging me I felt like shone fit better so I finally looked it up and shined is only for past tense of having done the shining, lol je spit-shined shoes. Also I would have appreciated less swearing. It wasn't horrible but I just don't like it or find it necessary. I'm glad there was some resolution at the end of the book, even though there is definitely more to the story, it's a good balance of writing a series, but still having some resolution. My biggest problem is a little bit of a spoiler - I'm not a huge fan of instant love and fated relationships. Love is a choice, there were some concessions to that, but it still annoyed me. Especially that there was physical pain if they were keeping themselves apart.
This week’s book is Elfin by Quinn Loftis. This was not one of her free books, but in her other series the first book was free which is how I found her. This book is what I would consider Young adult fantasy. I fell in love with her first series and she branched off into two other series, one of which follows the storyline of the first. Overall the Elfin series is about good versus evil and finding yourself and who you stand for.

I have enjoyed every single one of Quinn’s books. The first book introduces the characters in a new and fresh way. Quinn rights her books very cleanly without compromising the connection between love interests. You can feel how the characters feel for each other and gives you butterflies without getting graphic which some people do not like.

I am especially fond of elves, so I might be slightly biased, but this book is one of my favorites and I would highly recommend it. I give this book a five out of five stars. It is a feel good story and one of the few series that I actually enjoy. I rarely enjoy series because I am very impatient and I hate having to wait for the next book. This first book is a perfect start to the series and makes you eager to read more. Some reviewers felt the story was forced but I actually enjoyed it and nothing was bad enough to pull me out of the story.

I love each of the characters and felt they were well developed. The main girl acted a bit young at times but it was expected at least from me since it was in the young adult genre. I never expected any of the characters to be extremely mature, but they were not too childish. It was a nice blend and made an adult such as me happy to read it.

I would recommend any of Quinn’s books to people. The story is the typical evil against good, however the way she tells it is not typical. Quinn creates a great adventure and takes the reader along for the ride. It is a feel good story and is nice to read and escape from the real world for a while. Link is below! Happy reading and get lost Inside a good book!
Nothing terribly original here, but the lead characters are not very interesting. The heroine's BFF Elora is much more interesting than the heroine Cassie is, and there's more humor and life in the quickie flashes of Cassie's dad than in the angsty hero Trik (what a terrible name!).

What annoyed me most was the casual dialogue between Trik and Cassie. On Earth, Trik uses the same words/phrases as any human would - but never does it when in Faerie! Having a Fae hero say casually, "Hey, it's okay, beautiful," but in Faerie he speaks with long, poetic eloquence - "I will follow you to the ends of any realm. Never has there been and never will there be anyone who holds my heart as you do, " - let's just say the contrast was like getting whiplash!

It's a sweet story, but there's just not a lot of depth or originality to it. Not interested in continuing the series, or anything else by this author.
One of the biggest problems I had with this book is that the characters all sound the same - royalty vs teen girl, thousand(s) year old vs 18 year old, etc.

The second problem I had was the mix up in homophones hall/haul, site/sight, etc.

Otherwise, decent read. I felt the ending was a little anti-climatic.
